HYDERABAD:Traffic Jam Becomes A Routine

Various parts of the city are witnessing traffic jam almost daily particularly before Iftar.Areas which remained badly affected by traffic congestion include BalaNagar,Dilsukhnagar,Lajpat Road, Tilak Incline, Station Road, Fakir-jo-Pir, Kohinoor Chowk, Sabzi Mandi Chowk, Bacha Khan Chowk and ofcourse Panjagutta etc roads.Encroachments by pushcart venders have multiplied the problems of pedestrians.Fruit sellers are doing their business on the main roads without any interference from police officials.Traffic police constables are seen only in some selected areas such as Lajpat Road, Saddar and the Cantonment shopping areas.Traffic jams on the main roads force motorcyclists and rickshaw drivers to take other routes which further aggravate the situation.Besides, smoke-emitting vehicles create a host of problems for others whereas parking of vehicles at no-parking zones also remains unnoticed by those regulating traffic. The carbon monoxide is really causing many health diseases..

CAN IT BE SOLVED? is the question raised by every road user...
I THINK WITH GRIT AND DETERMINATION WE PEOPLE CAN SOLVE IT!!

This color chooser gadget is a handy little web developer tool that allows you to choose a color by either using the RGB slider controls or entering numbers to the text boxes. It also functions as a RGB-to-Hex or Hex-to-RGB color converter.
To add the color chooser to your desktop, download Google Pack and install Google Desktop. Copy and paste this url into the search box on the Add Gadget screen: http://colorchoosergadget.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/colorChooser.xml .

These are helpful when you are making your myspace layout and don’t know the color codes!

Why does EARTH smell after RAIN?

Most people notice a distinctive smell in the air after it rains. But what causes it?????
As it turns out, the smells people associate with rainstorms can be caused by a number of things. One of the more pleasant rain smells, the one we often notice in the woods, is actually caused by bacteria! ACTINOMYCETES, a type of filamentous bacteria, grow in soil when conditions are damp and warm. When the soil dries out, the bacteria produces spores in the soil. The wetness and force of rainfall kick these tiny spores up into the air where the moisture after a rain acts as an aerosol (just like an aerosol air freshener). The moist air easily carries the spores to us so we breathe them in. These spores have a distinctive, earthy smell we often associate with rainfall. The bacteria is extremely common and can be found in areas all over the world, which accounts for the universality of this sweet "after-the-rain" smell. Since the bacteria thrives in moist soil but releases the spores once the soil dries out, the smell is most acute after a rain that follows a dry spell, although you'll notice it to some degree after most rainstorms.

iPOKE!

iPoke application caught my attention immediately, when apps were introduced in orkut.
You have to add the application to your profile first.
Now you can poke your friends..
You smash birthday cakes, throw flowers, bowl googly or smash tomatoes etc
If your friend has this app in his profile, in the top 3 order, then his profile will show the pokes he received from you and others.
You can also view the pokes that you sent through your history, from My History tab in iPoke tab.

MIRAGES

A mirage is a naturally-occurring optical phenomenon, in which light rays are bent to produce a displaced image of distant objects or the sky. The word comes to English via the French mirage, from the Latin mirare, meaning 'to appear, to seem'. This is the same root as for mirror. Like a mirror, a mirage shows images of things which are elsewhere. The principal physical cause of a mirage, however, is refraction rather than reflection. A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind.

RAVI VARMA

Raja Ravi Varma (April 29, 1848- October 2, 1906) was an Indian painter who achieved recognition for his depiction of scenes from the epics of the Mahabharata and Ramayana. His paintings are considered to be among the best examples of the fusion of Indian traditions with the techniques of European academic art.
Raja Ravi Varma is most remembered for his paintings of beautiful
sari clad women, who were portrayed as very shapely and graceful. His exposure in the west came when he won the first prize in Vienna Art Exhibition in 1873. After a successful career as a painter, Raja Ravi Varma died in 1906 at the age of 58. He is generally considered as one among the greatest painters in the history of Indian art.
